Have you ever wondered what the CEO of a big company makes compared to the average worker? Well the most recent results are in, and they’ll have you gunning even harder for that corner office. According to the newest Executive Paywatch Report from the AFL-CIO, the average Fortune 500 CEO made 331 times as much as the average worker in 2013. This number continues a steep upward trend in the CEO-to-worker pay ratio that’s persisted over the last few decades (in 1983, CEOs only made 46 times as much as the average worker).
According to the same report, the top 1 percent of earners in America captured 95 percent of the income gains during the recovery from 2009 to 2012. We can all debate the politics of these numbers, but one thing is clear: CEOs are doing pretty well. Which got us thinking: Just how much money are Westchester’s top CEOs pulling in?
