Loryn and Adam Halper were wed May 25, 2008 on what they can only describe as the best day of their lives.
Loryn, 33, and Adam, 31, met while they were both working as lawyers for SEC in Washington, DC in 2004. “Adam had that old school charm that was different from others,” Loryn states.
While both were raised in the Jewish faith (Loryn is from Ohio while Adam is a Westchester native), the couple decided to incorporate the best of both sides of the families for their spring nuptials. The event took place at the Angel Orensanz Center, located on Norfolk Street in New York City. “We had gotten married downstairs, and had cocktails upstairs while the downstairs got converted to the reception,” Loryn says. The day was even more special as the bride brought in her grandmother’s cantor, Jamie Gloth, from Toledo to officiate the ceremony while Westchester based photographer, Todd Shapera captured the romantic moments. Loryn was looking for elegance and modern grace when she decided to also bring in Westchester based event and decor designer Diana Gould.
Having people with the same taste working together helps make any wedding spectacular; that is why wedding coordinator Alison Cozzini (Lindsay Landman Events – Manhattan), who works closely with Diana Gould, was added to the team.
While the intricate lighting and decor was the perfect way to enjoy the feast presented by caterer Feast and Fetes, located in Manhattan, the couple treasured their intimate time together with friends and family. “There is nothing I would changed about the day. Everything was beautiful,” Loryn says. “The weather the beautiful. Everything was great.”
