It’s not too early to sign up—in fact, it’s a good idea to reserve your spot right now—for the 38th annual Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic, which will be hosted (again!) by Giants quarterback Eli Manning. The event isn’t until Monday, June 8, but don’t delay! It typically sells out very, very quickly.
In addition to Manning, attendees will play alongside some of the country’s best blind golfers and witness the magnificent Guiding Eyes dogs in action. The two-day outing will be at the Mount Kisco Country Club and Fairview Country Club in Greenwich, Connecticut.
The action all starts on June 7, when Guiding Eyes presents the Corcoran Cup, the “Masters” of blind golf, at Mount Kisco Country Club. Fourteen of the best blind golfers from around the world, including former World Blind Golf Champion Zohar Sharon, will compete for the trophy. Spectators are welcome at the Corcoran Cup, although registration is required for gallery seating.
Manning first learned of the Guiding Eyes Golf Classic from 24-time Corcoran Cup champion Patrick W. Browne, Jr., a family friend. “This is my ninth year hosting Guiding Eyes’ Golf Classic, and it’s very special to me,” says Manning. “Since I’ve been a part of this, I’ve learned so much about how these dogs affect lives. Every year, I listen to people tell their story about how they’re able to accomplish so much more, and to fulfill so many different talents in their lives because of having guide dogs. That’s been very rewarding for me.”
Wrangler, a Guiding Eyes pup currently being raised on the set of NBC’s TODAY show, will join Manning at the event.
