The Best Of Chappaqua's Main Street

Le Jardin du Roi—French bistro fare can be had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this enduring eatery with an inviting garden patio.

Horace Greeley House/New Castle Historical Society—The former home of the man who helped found the Republican Party as well as the New-York Tribune (one of the widest read American newspapers during the mid-20th century) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The New Castle Historical Society (Chappaqua is a hamlet in the Town of New Castle) purchased the house in 1998 and restored it by 2000.

New Castle Community Center—The New Castle Recreation and Parks Department manages this facility, offering classes ranging from yoga to tap dancing and women’s self defense plus preschool and senior programs.

Family Britches—Many Chappaqua denizens dress well due to this family-run clothier that offers top-quality fashions from upscale designers for him (Canali, Toscano, and Allegri) and for her (0039 Italy, Niu, and M. Missoni).

Chappaqua Village Market—Owners Tony Milazzo and son Vinny have been feeding residents of Chappaqua and the surrounding area prime meats, fresh produce and fish, local dairy, and baked goods (don’t miss the almond biscotti) for more than 40 years.
