Cool Breeze
The “cold” setting on your blow-dryer is there for a reason. A five- to 10-second cold blast after blow-drying with heat will close your hair cuticle and add shine, reports Diane Mammana of Salon Posh (516 W Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck 914-899-3333; salon

Fuzz Busters
“For fuss-free, completely frizz-free hair, you’ll need a keratin treatment, which lasts for about three months,” says hair and makeup artist Heather Adessa (makeupbyheathera.com). “Since you won’t be dealing with frizz, blow-drying takes about half the time.” But chlorinated or saltwater can strip out the treatment quicker. To prevent this, Adessa suggests applying a leave-in conditioner like Keratin Complex on your hair before swimming, then shampooing and conditioning with only sulfide-free products afterwards.
