The Alison Sribnik and Andrew Klappholz

Alison Sribnik and Andrew Klappholz met through friends a little over a year ago, and they both knew right from the start that there was something special between them.

For their second date, Andrew took Alison into the city to see a comedy show. Dinner followed, and on the way back they were so busy talking that they kept missing their respective trains home. (They also didn’t want the evening to end.)  It wasn’t until the final train of the night that they finally parted ways. “This was a very defining moment for our relationship, ”Andrew says.

Alison, who has her own software consulting company called Full Throttle Consulting, is originally from New Rochelle, while Andrew is from Ocean, NJ, and works as a journalist for the Journal News in Westchester.

They were spending so much time together at Andrew’s apartment (which incidentally didn’t allow dogs), they decided it made the most sense to move in with one another after a few months and found a place in Mamaroneck that also welcomed Alison’s yorkie, Harley.

The two love to spend weekends going on adventures together—with Harley in tow. On their first trip away, they visited the quaint and artsy town of New Hope, Pennsylvania. It was almost a year exactly to the date when they decided on a spur-of-the-moment trip back to New Hope this September.  Little did Alison know, however, what Andrew was planning on doing when they got there.

Andrew had had the ring for a about a week prior and “it was burning a hole in my pocket,” he says. “I couldn’t take the anxiety much longer. On the whole hour and a half ride up to New Hope, I was so nervous. I had to stop three times to go to the bathroom.”

When they arrived in New Hope, they searched and found a fairly empty field, where Andrew got down on one knee. “I have no idea what I actually said,” he admits, “but she said yes!”

They know they want “a small, intimate wedding on a beach somewhere in the spring, although not sure exactly sure where yet.” Alison says.
