The U.S. News and World Report has ranked ten Westchester high schools among the top 50 high schools in State of New York.
The annual rankings released this week were designed to measure, evaluate, and identify the best high schools in the nation. Over 19,400 public high schools were evaluated and were given a gold, silver, or bronze rating based mainly on state testing and college preparation. Out of the 1,147 high schools in New York, only 268 appeared in the rankings, and Westchester was well represented in the top tier.
Of the 268, the following ten schools from Westchester appeared in the top 50;
1. Edgemont Junior-Senior High School – 9th in New York, 58th Nationwide
2. Rye High School – 11th, 68th
3. Horace Greely High School – 19th, 102nd
4. Yonkers High School – 20th, 105th
5. Hastings High School – 25th, 135th
6. Byram Hills High School – 29th, 145th
7. Briarcliff High School – 31st, 156th
8. North Salem High School – 37th, 229th
9. Rye Neck Senior High School – 39th, 235th
10. Scarsdale High School – 46th, 403rd
