This Thursday, join the Westchester Medical Center Health Network at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel for a night of celebration, good wine, and a good cause.
The Wines of the World event will showcase approximately 50 bottles, all generously donated by the Harrison Wine Vault, along with a silent auction will follow. Proceeds from the night will benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, with a portion specifically dedicated to helping build a full-service Cochlear Implant Center, which would make audiology and speech pathology resources easily accessible to the area’s deaf and severely hard of hearing.
The list of exclusive international labels being uncorked (the tasting will also be accompanied by light dinner fare prepared on site) includes a 2012 Mayard Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Alex from the Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France and a 2010 Cos Cerasuolo di Vittoria Delle Fontane from Sicily, aged for three years in cement and glass tanks to enrich its highly tannic taste. You’ll even find rare spirits, like a blended Scottish whisky from Usquaebach, as well as the most expensive bottle of the night, a $300-plus Venezuelan rum from Diplomatico Ambassador. The subsequent auction will opening up a range of goods and getaways to the highest bidder, from a Matt Lauer-autographerd umbrella autographed, to a VIP meet and greet with Eli Manning, and even a countryside villa in sunny Tuscany.
And if you can’t make it (tickets are going fast) in person tomorrow, donations for the cause can be made here, and auction bids can be made here.
