Where better to learn about Italian wine than Tarry Wine, the Port Chester wine emporium owned by Joseph Bastianich and Mario Batali? At their next-door restaurant, Tarry Lodge, we’ve reveled with wines from Bastianich’s own vineyards. Now the store plans to host a sommelier-led class on Tuscan wine on Friday, February 27, as part of a new monthly series on the regional wines of Italy. Explore six wines from the glorious south of Florence (SoFlo?) region, such as Brunello and Chianti, while indulging in cheese, antipasti, and salumi. It kicks off with a Prosecco reception (and ends, perhaps, with not a few people moving on to the restaurant).
Tuscan Wine Class, Friday, February 27, Prosecco reception 6:30 pm, class 7 pm. Reserve here.
