Known as one of Westchester County’s most influential healthcare executives, Susan Fox takes the reins of the Westchester County Association.
At the Board of Directors’ meeting on September 23, CEO and President of White Plains Hospital Susan Fox was elected as the next Chairperson of the Westchester County Association. Succeeding Bill Harrington, Fox will step up from her current role as Vice Chair and commence her tenure in this new position on January 1, 2022.
“Working with Susan over the past 18 months, it’s easy to see her dedication to businesses and nonprofits throughout the region,” says WCA President and CEO Michael N. Romita. “With a visionary leader such as Susan at the helm of our board, the WCA will continue to set the professional agenda for economic growth throughout the region.”
Romita also gives recognition to Harrington’s groundbreaking initiatives, from the WCA’s Blue Ribbon Healthcare Taskforce to its Blueprint for Westchester, adding that Harrington will remain as part of their leadership team.
“I thank Bill Harrington for his longstanding commitment and dedication to this organization,” Fox says. “Bill helped to advance the mission of the WCA.”
Over the last decade, Fox has been at the front line of the healthcare industry transformation, driving the expansion of White Plains Hospital into a leading provider of advanced healthcare in the Hudson Valley and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The WCA has been able to create something truly special for the business community through its collaborative spirit, partnerships, and a constant desire to innovate and evolve,” Fox says. “I look forward to working alongside CEO Michael Romita to support our local corporations and businesses as we continue to rebound from this pandemic.”
In 2019, Fox was appointed to the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees and Chairs its Regional Policy Board 2. She is on the Columbia University School of Nursing Board of Visitors, as well as the Healthcare Association of New York State. She is also a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.
“Over the years, Susan has proven her dedication to both the business and nonprofit sectors across the County, and she will bring a wealth of experience and talents from the healthcare industry to her new role,” says Westchester County Executive George Latimer.
Fox will make her first address to the Westchester business community as WCA Board Chair during the Annual Leadership event on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 5:30-8:30pm at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown.
