Stop By Peekskill's Best Brunches This Weekend

It’s (sort of) morning and you need some fuel to start your weekend right.

We’ve all been there: You’ve slept in, you’re finally feeling human after a long week, and the one thing you want more than anything is some delicious food that you just don’t have to prepare yourself. If you’re in or around Peekskill, that bustling neighborhood has heard your plea and hosts a bevy of pre-lunch eateries to please your palates.

Peekskill Coffee House

This independent coffee house tops our list for the simple fact that not only do they offer delicious brunch treats, but they do it all day long. Grab a pastry to go and an art-topped latte (check out their Instagram), or stick around for one of their amazing crepes or waffles and a nice “Schnozberry” smoothie to go with a live weekend music performance.

Birdsall House

Another perennial favorite, beer-lover’s paradise Birdsall House is also a dynamite weekend brunch stop. Saturdays are à la carte with their regular menu, plus classics like eggs with bacon or sausage, French toast, and corned beef hash. Sundays go prix fix where $21 gets you a complimentary beer, Bloody Mary, or mimosa, followed by soup, salad, yogurt, pate, or a goat cheese crostini, and then breakfast sandwich, corned beef, eggs Benedict, and other main dishes.

Blue Crab and Avocado Benedict @ brunch today ðŸ¸

Since it opened in 2015, the Iron Vine has been another of our favorite Peekskill drinks-and-dining venues, and their brunch menus would be reason alone. The tapas bar has some truly amazing dishes, everything from marinated skirt steak to a falafel bowl, from decadent custard-soaked French toast to “blue crab and avocado Benedict.” Throw in the bottomless mimosas and Iron Vine’s lengthy list of house-made cocktails, and you’ll need a serious nap after this brunch.

12 Grapes

12 Grapes is a SoHo-styled global cuisine dinner and late night spot in the heart of Peekskill that also sports an amazing Sunday brunch. Whether you’re more in the mood for classics like brioche French toast and hanger steak and eggs, or something less traditional like the salmon Benedict, you and everyone in your party can eat happily straight through from bunch to lunner.

Taco Dive Bar

There’s just something to be said for a good breakfast taco. Load yours up with mouth-watering chorizo or grab the José Special (eggs, mushrooms, spinach, and beef if you’re not going for the veggie option). Then again there’s always a brisket scramble, the Ranchero Diver, or “Joni’s Dancing Goats” maple yogurt drink with some fresh fruit salad. Really, there’s no wrong choice. Especially when you pair your meal with a good Bloody Maria. Or a blood orange mimosa. Or frozen sangria. Again, no wrong choice here.
