This new Mamaroneck recording studio has everything Westchester County artists need to make a record from scratch.
Born in White Plains and raised in Dobbs Ferry, Stockroom Records’ founder, Joshua Dooz, often has the mentality of doing things himself when he finds a passion for something. Following years as an artist constantly paying for studio time, he realized he wanted to be on the other side of things, and so Stockroom Records (174 E Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck) was born.
Stockroom Records was originally going to be located in the eponymous back room of Central Park Dance, Dooz’s parents’ dance studio. “The plan fell through, but the name and the dream stuck around!” he says.
Although it just opened its doors on November 12, a few artists have already jammed out while the studio was coming together over the past two months, including Dooz himself. You can easily find his music by searching for his artist name, Josh Dooz, on Spotify and all other music platforms. Stockroom Records is now looking to “breed and discover talent through their doors,” with a relaxed and comfortable space for artists.
“This is a professional studio without the pressure/exclusivity of some of the recording studios out there, ” says Dooz. “We provide the vibe, the equipment and acoustics, the support, the guidance, and allow you to enter that flow state so you can create and express your best stuff.”
Aside from recording music, Stockroom Records also offers music lessons, rehearsal space, and music production with live engineers, as well as artist management, promotion, and distribution. It also serves as its own record label and is already seeking new artists and talent.
“The goal is to be a record label with top artists on our team. We want to get your music to the world. Stockroom Records is your hub to come create and vibe!,” Dooz adds.
Artists can easily book a session through DM on Instagram, Facebook, or directly through email.
