Dorf & Nelson LLP in Rye has hired John V. D’Amico, Esq., as a new associate attorney in its litigation department. D’Amico comes to Dorf & Nelson from Lemberg Law LLC in Stamford, CT, where, as a litigation associate, he concentrated on consumer class action suits and handled all aspects of pre-trial litigation including pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement. He has also held litigation positions at Andrew Greene & Associates in White Plains, and at Meiselman, Denlea, Packman, Carton & Eberz P.C. in White Plains. D’Amico received a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
James Shearwood has joined The Schoolhouse Theater in Croton Falls as executive director, a newly created position. A resident of Kent in Putnam County, Shearwood most recently served as artistic and administrative director of Arts on the Lake in Kent Lakes. He spent 18 years on the theater faculty at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville and was the director of the theater program at Manhattanville College. Shearwood is also an actor and playwright.
White Plains-based Danone Waters of America, the North American bottled water division of Danone, has appointed Olga Osminkina-Jones to the position of vice president, marketing. Osminkina-Jones, who will report to Danone Waters of America president Eric O’Toole, will be responsible for leading marketing strategy and execution across Danone’s three water brands in the region: Evian, Badoit, and Volvic. Osminkina-Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing Management from TOURO College and a Global Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, Italy) in collaboration with Fudan University and the University of California.

Judith Cascone, a licensed real estate broker bringing with her nearly 20 years of industry experience, has joined the Chappaqua brokerage of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. Cascone specializes in the Rivertowns—Hastings-on-Hudson, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown, and Sleepy Hollow. She was previously with Houlihan Lawrence. During her tenure in the real estate business, Cascone has attained the prestigious Certified Buyers Representative (CBR) and the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designations. She has been awarded numerous accolades from the Westchester County Board of Realtors, and was named a “Five Star Realtor” by Westchester Magazine in 2012 and 2013.
The Sprint Customer Service Center in Elmsford laid off 154 workers on Tuesday, March 25. Company spokeswoman Melinda Tiemeyer said that a combination of the company’s simpler pricing plans and improved customer service has reduced calls to call centers has reduced the need for call centers. The closure of Sprint’s call center at 565 Taxter Road comes after Sprint reported a net loss of $1 billion in the fourth quarter of 2013, an improvement from the $1.3 billion net loss in the fourth quarter of 2012.
