While the air cooled overnight here in greater NYC last week, fashion forecasters had spring on the mind, showcasing resort-ready to pre-season Southampton looks at Lincoln Center. Though the threads won’t hit the market ’til 2014, there was plenty of beauty inspiration to take the rest of us through a picture-perfect fall:
Amazonian models showcased bare-faced freshness at Alexander Wang—flawless skin, simply curled lashes, and soft, gel-groomed brows; while Jason Wu elevated the look with a subtle, sparkly brown eye.
Punching things up in the color department, Marc Jacobs mannequins pulled off super-thin electric blue liner; and Altuzarra featured a swoon-worthy, French-feel bright/matte red lip.
Masterful mane managers created oxymoronic wearable disco hair for Jenny Packham and Reem Acra; and Rodarte made rockabilly kohl and stenciled hair a thing.
And though Lela Rose’s fantastical gold leaf-flecked do kept the crowds cooing, I’m more inclined to copy Rebecca Minkoff’s Frieda Kahlo-via-The Sound of Music headband-braid—a sweet touch I’d wear on top of a snuggly sweater and slim dark denim.
