My relationship with the mall is love/hate—love one-stop shopping, hate the inevitably overlong trip and parking-garage fees—so it’s a plus that Splendid’s newest presence in the area, on the heels of their still-fresh location at The Westchester, is a standalone store in Greenwich, their first in Connecticut. Open since May 15, the debut is timely for locals seeking easy-yet-chic separates to throw on (or in a weekend bag) and look great in all day—even when it’s scorching out.
It’s no surprise that the SoCal company, masters of the casual-cool Cameron Diaz-Reese Witherspoon look, outfitted the store with cabana-like, navy-and-white-striped daybeds and white-washed walls to complement their sunny, effortless apparel for women, kids, and babies: perfect-fit striped tees, soft-but-smart day dresses and relaxed maxis, lasting everyday tanks, and cute, classic swimwear. (I’m a big fan of their clean-lined underthings and perfectly pared-down sandals, too.)
Sure, the White Plains location isn’t far off, but if you’re stocking up on comfy summer styles, you may as well make a day of it and head to one of Fairfield’s beaches après, no? Before you go, let Splendid’s bright outlook inspire your day’s agenda.
