While the obvious ways to celebrate 4/20 aren’t technically legal in New York State (at least not for recreational purposes), those looking to celebrate within the constraints of our legal system might want to head to The Cookery.
Chef David DiBari is turning the classic Italian cocktail into a ‘Stoney Negroni’ with the addition of hemp oil. “We chose to use hemp oil because we thought it would be a playful twist on the classic that would resonate with our guests,” says DiBari. “It’s also delicious. The oil imparts a buttery richness that plays against the astringency of the gin and the botanicals in Campari.” Other than the hemp, it’s a pretty classic rendition with a hint of orange and just a kiss of sweetness.
Can’t swing by for happy hour today? Look for the cocktail to stay on the drink menu through June, when the cocktail lineup will change to feature seasonal summer produce. After that, you’ll have to settle for a “Legalize Marinara” shirt from The Parlor.
