At the 2013 Annual Fall Leadership Dinner on November 13, the Westchester County Association will honor John B. Schandler and Joseph Simone. Schandler, CEO of White Plains Hospital, will be recognized for advancing hospital care, design, and technology that have improved the quality of care for thousands. Simone, the president Simone Development Companies, will be honored for his foresight in constructing office buildings in Westchester and New York City to accommodate 21st century medical and technology needs.
ANDRUS, a leading provider of child and family resources, has named five individuals to its senior leadership team: Bryan Murphy will become vice president and chief operating officer; Yonkers’ Lorelei Vargas will become vice president and chief strategy officer; Kerron Norman will serve as vice president of Community Based Programs; Sleepy Hollow’s Derek Kolleeny will serve as vice president and chief financial officer; and R. Tito Del Pilar will become vice president of Human Resources and Knowledge Management.
The Board of Directors of the Westchester Philharmonic has elected Millicent L. Kaufman of Scarsdale to its newly titled position of Chair. Ms. Kaufman, a member of the board for eleven years and its former President from 2003 – 2006, succeeds Neil D. Aaron, who will continue on the board’s executive committee.
Brian Fielding and Danny Goldberg have been elected to the Greyston Board of Directors. As EVP Corporate Development and a member of Audible.com’s Senior Team from early 1997 through his retirement at the end of 2012, Brian Fielding played a key role in setting and implementing Audible’s strategic and operational direction domestically and internationally. Danny Goldberg has a long and successful career in the music industry, working as a writer, press agent, and manager for many of the top names in rock and roll. He served as president of Atlantic Records, chairman of Warner Bros. Records, president of Mercury Records and, chairman of the Mercury Records Group.

Managing Partner Anthony J. Enea and senior associate Sara E. Meyers of White Plains’ Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP, have been selected by their peers for inclusion in New York Metro Super Lawyers 2013 in the field of Elder Law. This marks the seventh consecutive year Mr. Enea has been included in the Super Lawyers list, and the third time he has received recognition as a “Top 25” attorney in Westchester County.
NEW BUSINESSES, RELOCATIONS, OPERATIONS
The county’s Local Development Corporation (LDC) approved a resolution that will give Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow access to $14 million in tax-exempt bond financing towards the construction of a new 20,000 square-foot surgical suite at the existing Medical Services Building. The project also includes construction of a 200-foot long enclosed corridor bridge connecting the new surgical suite to the main hospital building.
A newly-formed female business-strategy team at Dorf & Nelson LLP in Rye conducted a clothing drive for Bottomless Closet, an organization that serves economically disadvantaged New York City women who are in need of professional clothing and interview skills. Current Bottomless Closet volunteer Laura-Michelle Horgan, an associate in the Litigation Department, will deliver donations on October 30th when she goes in for a training session and day of volunteer work.
State, county, and local leaders joined Pace University administration to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Pleasantville campus and break ground on the first phase of the Master Plan to transform the Pleasantville campus. Capital improvements in the multi-phase project include new residence halls, expanding and upgrading the student center, relocating and expanding the environmental center, adding new athletic facilities, upgrading existing buildings and infrastructure and improving pedestrian accessibility.
All Shows LLC, a premier ticket vendor in the New York metroarea, recently relocated its corporate headquarters, signing a lease for 4,645-square-feet at the International Corporate Center of Rye.

Simone Healthcare Development and Fareri Associates held a ground-breaking ceremony on October 9 for a new four-story, 85,000 sq-ft medical office building, located at 3030 Westchester Avenue in Purchase. In fact, foundation excavation on the building, pre-leased in its entirety by WESTMED Medical Group began nearly a month ago, and the building is expected to be ready for occupancy by January 2015.
Northeast Medical Group (NEMG), a physician group affiliated with Yale New Haven Health, has signed a long-term lease for over 4,500 square feet at the Harrison Executive Medical Park complex in Purchase.
Simon Property Group Inc. recently opened 11 stores at The Galleria, adding 50,000 sq ft of total retail space to the downtown White Plains shopping mall. Newly opened: a Vans; Zumiez; Stride Rite; P.S. from Aéropostale; Famous Footwear; Rue 21 and Garage; a Montreal-based clothing story for teenage girls; Blink Fitness; Verizon Wireless; iFix and Repair; The Linen Closet are also among the new stores.
