Secondhand shopping has never been more popular, and it’s only growing. According to the 2024 Resale Report from online consignment juggernaut ThredUp, the global pre-owned apparel market will reach $350 billion by 2028, rising three times faster than the overall global apparel market.
Westchester is all aboard this trend, and our area has a wealth of resellers and eco-initiatives. Whether your goal is to find vintage made from organic fabrics, shop more consciously, score labels for less, or support local causes, Westchester’s thrift scene has something to offer.
For Timeless Jewelry Finds
If you’re looking for an eclectic array of contemporary and vintage pieces at a range of price points, head to Trilogy Consignment in Tarrytown and Nyack. Peruse their selection of sterling silver, gold toned, and stone jewelry knowing what you’re getting is a rare find—the store doesn’t accept modern department store or mall brand costume jewelry.

For a Constantly Refreshed Inventory
In Scarsdale, Maizie Consignment Boutique offers labels that range from Gap to Tory Burch, offering like-new items at a range of price points. According to owner Karen Schlusberg-Tardibono, the store’s demographic is women aged 16 and up. “We try to cater to all shapes and styles,” Schlusberg-Tardibono says, adding that inventory is constantly changing. “We receive over 100 items daily. It is like Christmas every day.”
For Designer Bags Well Below Retail
At Luxury Fashion NY in Larchmont, peppered in with new-that-season merchandise are finds like vintage Chanel purses and preowned Louis Vuitton bags. The store also boasts preloved clothes in pristine condition, and sometimes you can even snag a couture brand like Maison Margiela. For designer deals in Northern Westchester, pop over to Bedford Hills for Penny Pincher Boutique, said to be the largest consignment shop in Westchester. The store houses designer goods from Hermes, Gucci, and Prada and boasts an impressive jewelry department.

A Bargain Hunter’s Paradise
For even steeper discounts, check out the Back Door Thrift Shop in White Plains. This treasure trove of finds offers gently used clothing, accessories and shoes, and costume jewelry.
For Affordable Eveningwear
Quiet luxury consumers who want to wear the best without breaking the bank can flock to Fantastic Finds, which offers upscale resale in Chappaqua. The store is owned by Support Connection, a nonprofit providing free counseling to anyone impacted by breast, ovarian, or other gynecological cancers. Every year in October, the boutique features its luxe furs, eveningwear, and designer accessories down the runway in a charity fashion show.
Peekskill’s Quirkshop is a personality-packed boutique selling clothing crafted by independent designers from reclaimed materials and upcycled cashmere. “Fast-fashion is so detrimental to the planet and the workers that make it,” says Quirkshop owner and designer Jeorjia Shea. “We really focus on using high-quality fabrics, not polyester. Stuff from Shein immediately falls apart and doesn’t feel good on your body. Our main focus is for clothes to be really comfortable.”
