SCORE Westchester, a nonprofit that provides small business mentoring and advisory services for people looking to start or grow a small business, will be offering Westchester’s Boot Camp for Startups, an interactive entrepreneurial workshop that aims to provide soon-to-be or early-stage entrepreneurs the essential knowledge, tools, and skills required to “make it,” beginning April 22nd.
The program consists of five interactive, 3-hour workshop sessions, running from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The workshops are held at the Greenburgh Town Hall (177 Hillside Ave. (Rt 100), White Plains, easily accessible from I-287).
Topics aim to cover all the bases of starting your own business. Session one, for example, is called “Startup Considerations” and focuses on formulating a business plan; “Marketing Decisions,” session two, aims to make you aware of the marketing tools at your disposal to maximize customer reach; while session five, “Financing Your Business,” breaks down the accounting, credit, and banking aspects of running a business. (Session 3 and 4 are “Refining Your Concept” and “Understanding Financial Fundamentals,” respectively, in case you were wondering.)
It’s worth noting that you don’t have to sign up for boot camp to gain access to SCORE’s mentoring, and you don’t have to be a startup, either. Free business counseling is available to all, at any stage.
Registration is $50. For a detailed breakdown of the topics covered in each workshop and to register, click here.
