Say Yes to the Test

You’d never let your kids skip their annual screenings, so why skip yours? Karen Leiser, MD, internal medicine physician with the Scarsdale Medical Group, says these are tests you should never skip:

• Blood pressure screening (beginning at 18).

• Cholesterol screening  (beginning at 17-21).  

• Women’s breast cancer screening (beginning at 40)

• Women’s cervical cancer screening (beginning at 21)

• Men’s colorectal cancer screening (beginning at 50)

• Men’s prostate cancer screening (beginning at 50)

*All age recommendations are for patients with average risk factors.
