Salt-Based Therapies Are Coming to Help Westchester Detox

While many primarily think of salt as a mineral to flavor food or a remnant of beach air, its healing effects can help us achieve both mental and physical equilibrium, naturally. Salt’s negative ions work to neutralize the overabundance of positive ions we now encounter in our day-to-day digital existence — and can provide safe and natural relief for a multitude of issues, including skin conditions, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, the common cold, sinus infections, the flu, and ear infections.

Not surprisingly, salt-based therapies are trending in the wellness space. Get salty at Westchester’s newest spots to offer the therapy. Hidden Realms Wellness in Mamaroneck offers a salt-therapy room with zero-gravity chairs and soft music, allowing visitors a relaxing space to recharge. The location, which opened in September, also offers a far infrared sauna, aerial yoga classes, and meditation and energy healing.

Salt + Sweat is hoping to open mid-November in Rye Brook’s Rye Ridge Shopping Center. The salt-therapy room can be used as a meditative space while giving your body a full upper-respiratory detox.  Salt + Sweat also offers full-spectrum infrared saunas, which are said to lower blood pressure, aid muscle recovery, revive circulation, and improve heart health.

Nordic Edge has two county locations, in Scarsdale and Eastchester, another in New Canaan and many at national airports. The brand boasts a salt room that is handcrafted with pure salt bricks from the Polish salt caves, where modern salt therapy was discovered. Also on offer are localized- and full-body cryotherapy, compression therapy, and infrared therapy.
