In yet another response to golf during the pandemic, Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley will host their first virtual golf outing, #ForeRonaldHouse, during the week of September 12 –18th at golf courses across region. Golfers throughout the Hudson Valley and the greater New York area are urged to gather family, friends and coworkers to play the course of their choice while supporting the families at Ronald McDonald House located at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, NY.
“During this unprecedented time of the pandemic and social distancing, traditional events like our annual Golf Outing have to be recreated,” said Christina Riley, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House. “Just because we can’t all physically be together this year doesn’t mean we can’t come together in a fun way to support the families at Ronald McDonald House. We are excited to see our supporters enjoying a day of golf with their friends and family while giving back to our community.”
Participants can register through Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley website or Facebook page and can play at any golf course during that week. They are asked to make a donation of any amount when they register. Once registered, every foursome will have access to the Live Scoring App which allows players to compete against each other during the week-long event. Winners will receive exciting prizes donated by local supporters of Ronald McDonald House. Outing participants will also be invited to the Virtual Silent Auction to be held at the end of the week-long golf event. All golfer fees and costs incurred at the individual golf courses are the responsibility of the players. All proceeds are tax deductible and will support the mission of Ronald McDonald House; Keeping Families Together and Close to the Care and Resources They Need.
