The Essentials: If stately, Old World romance is your thing, look no further than this 1902 mansion, formerly the Haymount House, which is said to have been the inspiration for Gone With the Wind’s Tara estate. Stunning architecture, pastoral setting, world-class cuisine.
Rooms: The Banquet Room is for larger parties (up to 250 people for a cocktail party, 180 for a sit-down dinner); the Vista Room is for small parties (25 to 30 people). The Manor also offers an outdoor area for ceremonies.
The Vibe: Romantic and elegant. The Manor has been restored with modern amenities, but retains its original architectural details. If you want majestic but not flamboyant, you’ll be very happy here.
Cost: $100–$175 per person, depending on the menu choices and bar packages, plus a $500 to $3,000 rental fee, priced according to which room you choose and whether you want to buy out the entire venue.
What’s Included: Every wedding includes a cocktail hour, full menu, Viennese display, and bar. There are three wedding packages: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond; the basic differences (besides the price) are more (and sometimes higher-end) choices of antipasti, passed hors d’ouvres, cocktail stations, and dinner courses, desserts, and wine and spirits.
Standout Features: The building itself is grand, plus there are walking grounds with gorgeous views of the Hudson River. Brides will love the Scarlett O’Hara Bridal Suite as they and their bridesmaids get ready.
Best For: Semiformal to ultra-formal weddings; traditional weddings; couples who want to wow their guests with lots of fabulous food choices.
