Here’s What Local Retail Shops Are Doing to Ensure Your Health and Safety

Many Westchester shops are looking forward to getting customers back in their stores after a few months of closed doors, and are offering ongoing pickup and delivery services, and in-person shopping again, in accordance with state guidelines.

New York state guidelines:

  • Limit store occupancy to a maximum 50%
  • Both employees and customers must wear face coverings
  • Physical barriers, such as Plexiglass at cash registers, must be installed
  • Water fountains must be closed
  • Face coverings should be provided free for employees
  • Hand hygiene stations (either hand washing sites or hand sanitizer dispensers) must be installed
  • Employers must implement mandatory health screenings of employees

All About the Dress

480 Main St, Armonk
Hours: Appointments are available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The shop may be able to accommodate other days based on availability.
Precautions: Hand sanitizer will be available at the door when customers arrive. Dressing rooms, door knobs, and other high-touch surfaces are cleaned in between appointments. Appointments are staggered to allow time for sanitation. Shopping groups are asked to maintain a maximum of three people.
Appointments: Required. Appointments are limited to one hour.

175 Bloomingdale Rd, White Plains
Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
Precautions: Employees have their temperature taken every day before coming in. The store has limited sitting room availability. The fitting rooms are open but limited and monitored. Anything that has been returned is quarantined for 24 hours and steamed before returning to the floor space. Fine jewelry cannot offer repairs or sizing at this time.
Appointments: Appointments strongly encouraged. Personal appointments include: one hour with stylist or personal shopper; 30 minutes in Beauty; one hour in Fine Jewelry; one hour in Home; one hour in Men’s Apparel & Accessories; One hour in Women’s Apparel & Accessories.

Cross County Shopping Center

8000 Mall Walk, Yonkers
Hours: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday — Saturday
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday
Precautions: Signage is posted reminding and requiring compliance with government orders and personal protective equipment. There is directional signage in common areas to provide appropriate spacing for entering and exiting stores. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the center. Seating areas, outdoor furniture, and restrooms have been modified to meet social distancing requirements. Play areas aren’t available for use at this time.


Desires by Mikolay

55 King St, Chappaqua
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday — Saturday
Precautions: There are designated entrance and exit doors. Once customers enter, they will be asked to join a social distanced line as they wait to be serviced.  Hand sanitizer stations are available upon entering and exiting. Staff is disinfecting and cleaning every hour.

Eileen Fisher LAB

1 Bridge St, Irvington
Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Monday — Friday
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday
12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday
Precautions: The store has redesigned fitting rooms in order to best comply with social distancing regulations. They are selling masks with a 1:1 donation to charitable cause for each one purchased, offering personal shopping appointments, cleaning and disinfecting frequently (especially checkout counters and card readers), limiting the number of customers that can be in the store at once, and providing contactless payment options and hand sanitizer.

Elephant’s Trunk

111 Main St, Mount Kisco
Hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday — Saturday; Other hours can be accommodated by appointment.
Precautions: Fitting rooms are wiped down after each use and garments are steamed after they’ve been tried on. Employees clean the store several times throughout the day. Face masks and gloves will be provided for clients who don’t come with their own.
Appointments: Appointments are highly encouraged. The store is taking up to three appointments at a time. In the case not all appointment slots are filled, walk-ins can be accommodated.



152 Bedford Rd, Katonah
Hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday — Friday
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
Precautions: Credit card only policy to ensure contactless payment. No more than five people are permitted in the store at once. Masks are available for purchase. Fitting rooms are open, but staff is limiting the number of clothes customers can bring in at once. Tried-on garments are steamed and fitting rooms are cleaned in between uses.

I AM More Scarsdale

6 Spencer Pl, Scarsdale
Hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday — Saturday
Precautions: Fresh gloves and disposable masks are offered at the entrance for clients who may not have them. Only two to three customers are allowed in the store at once. Private appointments are available. Clothes that a customer might want to try on are steamed in the fitting room. Large plexiglass covers have been installed over the checkout area. Some merchandise is out on the sidewalk for customers who don’t feel comfortable coming inside.


Kimberly House

29 Washington Ave, Pleasantville
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday — Saturday
12 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday
Precautions: Staff is cleaning the store about once every other day. Kimberly House is limiting the number of people in the space to about two customers at one time.


The Loft at CW

230 Rt 117 Bypass Rd, Bedford Hills
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday – Saturday
11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday
Extended hours: July 4, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Precautions: Masks and gloves are provided for customers who do not have. Staff is disinfecting the shop at least twice daily, and specific areas of the store with heavier customer-traffic being cleaned after each use.
Appointments: Customers can either browse the store themselves or schedule a personal shopping appointment with one of the designers. Appointments are encouraged. The store can open outside of normal hours for appointments if necessary.

LOLA New York

396 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains

300 Columbus Ave, Tuckahoe
Hours: Monday — Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Precautions: Both locations are frequently cleaned and disinfected, using an industrial cleaner to fog the store three times a day. Fitting rooms are available and are cleaned after each use. Four customers allowed inside at a time, but customers may call ahead of a visit to ensure they’ll be able to enter upon arrival.


LUXE Luxury Labels

41 Maple Ave, Armonk
Hours: Monday — Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday by appointment
Precautions: Both indoor and outdoor shopping is offered. The number of customers who come inside is limited. Gloves are being provided to customers who don’t have any. In addition, UV lights are being used in the sitting room (while empty), and fitting rooms are open. Garments that have been tried on are steamed and put away from 24 hours before returning to the store floor.

R&M Woodrow Jewelers

21 Purchase St, Rye
Hours: Monday — Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Precautions: Hand sanitizers are in place, as well as plastic protectors on counters. There are a limited number of customers allowed inside. Staff wash their hands after every client.

Suzette’s Lingerie

5180 Xavier Drive, Yonkers
Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday — Sunday
12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday
Precautions: Plexiglass partitions have been put place by the register and counters. Hand sanitizer is available for use. Fitting rooms and other high-touch areas will be cleaned regularly. Personal appointments are available.

Village Mercantile

28 Chatsworth Ave, Larchmont
Hours: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday — Saturday
Precautions: Face masks and coverings must be worn, and gloves will be supplied for customers to wear inside the shop. Limited to two customers inside the store. A plexiglass panel has been installed at the checkout area. Contactless payment is encouraged.


Wilson & Sons Jewelers

18 Chase Rd, Scarsdale
Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday — Saturday
Precautions: Limiting the number of people in the store at the same time – approximately six people. Merchandise and tools are sanitized after each use. For security purposes, before entering the jewelry shop, customers are asked to be visible to security camera mask-less outside, and are then asked to put masks on before entering. Plexiglass barriers separate staff and customers.
