From adult English classes to domestic violence centers, here’s a collection of local organizations dedicated to helping Westchester’s immigrant population.

Cabrini Immigrant Services

Cabrini has been in Dobbs Ferry since 1998 and offers adult education (in subjects including English and citizenship exams), legal services related to immigration, referrals for healthcare, and more.

El Centro Hispano

El Centro says its mission “is to assist, support, and strengthen the Hispanic community; to help them become self-sufficient; and to ease their transition into their new culture while maintaining and enriching their own.” They also offer a scholarship program and a technology center.

The Empire Justice Center at John Jay Legal Services, PACE University School of Law

The Empire Justice Center is the local office of a firm dedicated to the legal rights of “poor, disabled, or disenfranchised” New Yorkers. The White Plains office concentrates primarily on immigrants’ rights.

This initiative at Westchester Community College (WCC) offers a number of programs, including English classes and cultural events. Many of them are aimed at immigrants and children of immigrants attending college at WCC.
