Bruised Apple is a one-of-a-kind bookstore that carries a handful of rare gems, including books, CDs, movies, and even records. This is a store where you can peruse around with an open mind, since something is bound to speak to you. The doors to this Peekskill shop have been open since 1993, making it a longtime favorite in Westchester County.

Den of Wax opened its Ossining storefront in November 2023. The store is run by husband-and-wife duo Matt and Diana Friedman, who reside in Croton-on-Hudson. If you’re a fan of aesthetically intricate packaging, hard-to-find records, and up-and-coming artists, Den of Wax is the spot for you. The business also boasts a record label, which seeks out under-the-radar artists from around the world to help them press vinyl.

Marquee Records

Marquee Records was founded amid the pandemic by Tarrytown Music Hall volunteer Greg Jacquin. It all started when he was inclined to drive around Westchester and collect records from over 50 donors. Jacquin and his volunteers then put together two record sales, raising over $8,000 for the nonprofit Tarrytown Music Hall. Now, the record store, which is run completely by volunteers, sits above the music hall’s marquee.
