Craftsman Ale House in Harrison—serious beer bar and home of the beer-battered Twinkie—will have its annual Pumpkin Week October 13 through 19, with drafts of pumpkin beer rotating on all eight taps!—about 40 to 50 kegs total. The more than 60 bottled pumpkin beers they’ve been stockpiling also get their airing now—and that’s it until next year for pumpkin, says co-owner Joe Vicidomini. Just about any pumpkin beer on the market will be represented, including some rarities.
This easygoing place, plastered with beer paraphernalia, is known for its burgers, called “first rate” by the New York Times. They also make small plates (fried pickles, onion soup), salads, and the like, but this week they’ll have pumpkin specials, such as beer-battered pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin ravioli mac ‘n’ cheese. As this is not far from me, you can bet I’ll be haunting this gig.
