Pamela Pekerman is not one to let the grass grow under her feet. The Hustle Like a Mom founder, self-styled mompreneur, and media personality balances two separate Instagram accounts — with 18.5K and 1.6K followers, respectively — when she isn’t appearing on TV or raising her two children. Pekerman’s most popular, and self-named account, is a kaleidoscope of local gems, useful tidbits, and inspiring entrepreneurial posts. No surprise the Scarsdale resident has spent quite a bit of time in front of the camera, working nearly two decades in the entertainment industry and serving as a fashion expert on NBC, HSN, QVC, and Good Morning America.

“I am very grateful for that experience because it really helped me sharpen my retail eye and marketing eye, as well as my eye for television and media,” says Pekerman of her career. “In the last four years, I have parlayed all of that into Hustle Like a Mom, which, during the pandemic, blew up in ways I could not fathom.”

Dedicated to helping mothers attain their entrepreneurial dreams, Hustle Like a Mom and Pekerman’s personal account found new relevance and clarity as the coronavirus swept our region. “I used to use my account for campaigns, but I really homed in over the last two years on moms,” explains Pekerman, who is a first-generation American born to immigrants from the Soviet Union. “If it’s not a mom brand, and it’s not going to uplift you or educate or inspire you, there’s no point.” On her Hustle Like a Mom account, followers can find resources like tips on how to be a better storyteller, how to write a better press release, infographics, or quotes from another momprepreneur.

“I want to be the mom who lives up to the pillars I created for Hustle Like a Mom, which is community, growth, shared experience, and accountability.”

The tactics seem to have worked, as Pekerman has since hosted three Hustle Like a Mom summits and kicked of her own group coaching program, Master Your Messaging. She is currently planning more digital events, as well as two-day destination retreats occurring in 2022. For Pekerman, it is really all about inspiring the women of Westchester. “I want to be the mom who lives up to the pillars I created for Hustle Like a Mom, which is community, growth, shared experience, and accountability,” says Pekerman. “Wrapped with that is the fact that we are women who are redefining what it means to be a working mom. I want to be able to show you that, for me, entrepreneurship is the solution and that we can actually make more money than we did in our corporate jobs if we have a strategic plan.”
