Did you stop believing? Shame on you.
Last year Ossining Union Free School District and Superintendent Raymond Sanchez convinced us it was going to be the Best. School. Year. Ever. They even gave us the majesty that is Principal Regina Cellio:
Ugh. Mandel, am I right? (We’ll miss him, too.)
Anyway, if you thought after last year’s video OUFSD had nowhere to go but down, you are dead wrong.
Sanchez and crew are back to amp-up students for another fun-filled and productive school year, but to also remind them that, “the school year moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
For four solid minutes, Sanchez jogs across his entire school district — in a suit — in a glorious homage to John Hughes’ 1986 classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, complete with “Oh Yeah” by the band Yello playing in the background. It’s kind of beautiful. Harry J. Quiroga of Ossining High School channels vintage Hughes with some frankly impressive shoestring budget shot recreations.
Of course, there’s no vengeful, beleaguered principal waiting to bust Sanchez at the end of his desperate sprint. He is the boss. He’s actually just trying to get to school. When he does, however, his faculty, staff, and plenty of students are ready and waiting, already jamming out to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop This Feeling.”
And you can’t. You can’t stop this feeling. This feeling that, against all odds, this is going to be the Best. School. Year. Ever.
