Orangetheory bills itself as the fastest-growing fitness franchise, and with a veritable wave of Westchester locations on the way, it seems they aren’t kidding. The company’s workouts emphasize high-intensity interval training through varied cardio and weight exercises, all while participants wear heart monitors to maximize their sweat sessions. It helps that the gyms look eminently sleek and the trainers are all vetted pros.
The formula seems to work, with Orangetheory set to open outposts in Scarsdale and Tarrytown this spring, following on the heels of bustling locations in White Plains and Mount Kisco. According to Orangetheory franchise owner Paul Blanchard, the gym’s strong growth is a product of its effectiveness.
“Orangetheory Fitness, as a franchise, continues to grow at incredible speed. More than 800 locations have opened throughout the US in the last six years and over 30 more globally,” says Blanchard. “Participants see incredible results and we appeal to all ages and fitness levels. Our secret is heart-rate-based interval training, which is proven to burn more calories post-workout than any other, as well as the professional coaches that lead each class.”
Blanchard notes that Orangetheory also offers a completely different workout each day of the year, preventing participants from becoming bored or acclimated to certain movements. And with such effective offerings, Blanchard adds that Westchesterites can plan to see plenty of the franchise ahead. “In the next two years, you will see Orangetheory in Scarsdale, Tarrytown, Tuckahoe, Yorktown, and Mamaroneck,” he says.
