Rouse Your Mind, Body, and Spirit with the Awaken Fair In Tarrytown

The total-being wellness convention returns to Westchester with speakers, healers, and more.

In 2002, the Awaken Fair started as 42 like-minded, health-focused individuals. Fifteen years later it hosts multiple events every year, each one boasting around one thousand guests and experts.

Vendors now include spa, bath, and beauty products — always natural and frequently hand-made or “upcycled” — as well as food and drink items like herbal tea brand Tea of Life, and even service experts like Meg Conkling, “The Curly Hair Alchemist.”

While caring for the body is a large focus, the Awaken Fair is chiefly about mind-body-spirit wellness, the total package of self-care. Healers present include reiki masters and energy healers, even Tibetan singing bowl practitioners, all of whom are available in “mini-sessions” which provide an ideal and inexpensive introduction to the techniques.

Speakers are also lined up all day in three separate rooms of the Tarrytown DoubleTree Hotel, beginning at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 19 and running straight through 5 p.m. in 45-minute increments. Paula Caracappa, Founder and CEO of the Awaken Fair’s parent company PPC Group, LLC, praises the variety of expert speakers.

“At any given event, you may be treated to an MD who talks about the blending of Eastern and Western medicine, a dream analyst who can help you mine your subconscious, an aromatherapist explaining this ancient practice, and any number of experts in the wellness world.”

The extensive list likewise includes life coaches, mediums, nutritionists, nurses, and even cannabis advocate Shira “#ThePotMom” Adler. All of these sessions are included with regular ticket price.

On the spiritual end, the Awaken Fair is known for its many various readers. “ Although our Readers are for entertainment purposes only, many guests report amazing experiences,” Caracappa says. Guests can book time with intuitives, mediums, palm and card readers, even past life regressionists. Readers and healers can even be pre-booked online to avoid a long wait.

Advance tickets are $15 through November 18, or $20 at the door. VIP tickets are also available for $25, which include early entrance at 8:45, a free group healing session, and meditation class.
