Peak Fall Colors Are—Finally—Arriving In Westchester This Weekend

Peak to near-peak foliage colors will finally be arriving in Westchester this weekend, according to the state’s Fall Foliage Tracker.

While much of the state is now actually past-peak, Westchester’s leaves have been slow to adopt the red and yellow colors of fall. However, the state’s foliage report is calling for 40 to 50 percent change in color in White Plains, with “predominately red leaves along with shades of orange and yellow.”

Further north, 75 percent change and near-peak conditions are expected at Bear Mountain State Park. Across the river, Orange and Rockland counties are both expected to be at peak or just past peak for Halloween weekend.
