Local Design Firm Teams Up With Property Brothers

Westchester is in the spotlight in the upcoming ‘Buying & Selling’ season of HGTV’s hit show.

Fans of Drew and Jonathan Scott’s popular HGTV Property Brothers’ show Buying & Selling are in for a local treat come season four. Not only have the brothers returned to Westchester to feature county homes, but Gracefully Done, a Chappaqua-based floral and landscape design firm, assisted in behind the scenes work for the show. The custom design firm was one of the lucky few local businesses chosen to aid the world-famous twins in floral designs.

The “principals” of Gracefully Done, as Grace Gibbons and Francesca Carter call themselves, are known for their ability to create custom living environments. They worked for seven weeks to design, spec, source, buy, create, and artfully stage over 100 arrangements for six Westchester houses. The process generally took a few days for each property, according to Gibbons and Carter.

“Working with live material pretty much always comes down to crunch time,” says the designers. “As with many of our events, the timeframe to implement was two to three days. The difference was the time we had to plan up front.”

Gracefully Done’s floral statements are achieved by blending traditional floral composition with an expertise in landscape design to develop double-take creations that tell a story. The creations for each property reflected both the unique touch of Gracefully Done as well as the distinct style of the Drew and Jonathan Scott. According to the Scott brothers, “Grace and Francesca were able to elevate our reveals to the next level.”

Gibbons and Carter have worked with clients throughout Westchester, offering exterior and interior floral design solutions for many types of settings and occasions, but would welcome another experience like this one. “Collaborating with this group of professionals to help deliver on an overall vision was not just an incredible experience, but a great way to up our game and learn a bit in the process,” said Gibbons and Carter.
