Fortina To Open Up New Location In Yonkers

The well-known restaurant group has established itself in Armonk, Rye Brook, and Stamford, and now has signed a lease for space in the Boyce Thompson Center.

On Thursday, Simone Development Companies announced that Fortina has signed a lease for 5,605 square feet of space on the main level of the mixed-use Boyce Thompson Center, located off Executive Boulevard with easy access to the Saw Mill River Parkway and North Broadway.

When Christian Petroni, Chef and Co-owner of Fortina, first made plans to start the restaurant, getting funding wasn’t so easy. At the time, investors didn’t see much promise in Petroni and his partners. After more than a year of struggling, funding finally came through. The restaurant turned out to be a huge success, opening locations in Armonk, Rye Brook, and most recently, Stamford. Now Fortina’s success is continuing on into Yonkers.

“We’re so excited to be involved in this awesome project. From the first time we walked the grounds and saw the building, we were blown away. Can’t wait to bring that space back to life,” said Petroni.

First built in the 1920s, the Boyce Thompson building will be restored to its original character. The restoration will include office space for business and medical use, retail stores, banking, and two restaurants. This announcement builds on the momentum of leasing success at the Boyce Thompson Center.

“It is a proud moment for Simone Development Companies and the City of Yonkers to welcome Fortina, one of the area’s most popular restaurants, to the Boyce Thompson Center,” said Joseph Simone, President and CEO of Simone Development Companies. “Fortina will bring a new level of energy to the local dining scene and be an important dimension of our mixed-use community center.”
