I resolve to use no shampoo with sulfates in 2011, and now, with L’Oreal’s new EverStrong line of shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair, it’s doable without breaking the bank. “As a colorist, I can say there is a big difference visually between hair treated with sulfate versus sulfate-free,” says Rosemary Filancia, co-owner of the King Street Salon in Chappaqua (229 King St, 914-238-8338). “L’Oreal’s EverStrong products are sulfate- and sodium chloride-free and very reasonably priced. I use them on my own hair, which is fine and color-treated. It adds volume and doesn’t strip the color.” Available at mass merchandisers, about $7 each for shampoo or conditioner.
