Love Shoes
1910 Palmer Ave, Larchmont (914) 630-7444
Larchmont shoe-lovers breathed a sigh of relief recently when Ellie Devito decided to fill the vacuum left in that village by the closing of two popular shoe stores. Her shop, Love Shoes, moved into the former Plaza Bootery space, right next to Devito’s eight-year-old women’s boutique, Love By Bella Fiora. You’ll find sneakers as well as casual and dress shoes ($30 to $120) by Naturino, Primigi, Umi, Geox, Stride Rite, and Sketchers for boys and girls. And for their moms? Everything from ballet flats by Bloch and Corso Como ($60) to flat riding boots from Aquatalia ($700). Other labels include Stuart Weitzman, Hunter, and Michael Kors. Accessories such as handbags, jewelry, hats, and scarves are for sale, too.

When this intimate space next door to the hot Restaurant North became available, Chappaqua residents Tanya Tochner and Marjorie Troob decided to take the retail plunge. (The pair had previously sold their own Jolie B. Ray line of contemporary jewelry privately.) “It’s a hip store,” Tochner says. “A bit of the Hamptons and New York City in Armonk.” Designer and contemporary jewelry, most made in the United States, is the focus here. In addition to the signature collection—which features 18-karat, textured gold and precious and semi-precious stones ($500 to $5,000)—a dozen or so other designers, like SeidenGang, Megan Thorne, and Suzy Landa, are showcased. Private appointments, custom design, and repairs also are offered.
