New Stores: Georgio’s Home in Rye, Rebecca Taylor in White Plains, and roztayger in Chappaqua

Georgio’s Home
43 Theodore Fremd Ave, Rye
(914) 417-4666

A decade ago, Purchase resident Robert Georgio began constructing houses on spec, for which his wife, Patty, helped out by selecting architectural finishes. The pair proved so successful that, last year, they erected a dozen high-end homes in the local area and Patty branched out to offer full interior design services to her own roster of clients. Now, the talented design duo has opened an ultra-luxe showroom in downtown Rye to highlight their custom-made millwork and cabinetry for kitchens, baths, and other rooms. The group offers design and construction services for anything from a powder-room renovation to a new home, with typical prices ranging from $2,500 for a bathroom vanity to $60,000-plus for a new kitchen.

We’re not the only ones who are loving this New-Zealand-native-turned-New-Yorker’s ultra-feminine but oh-so-chic designs. Duchess Kate looked ravishing, per usual, in the indigo blue, modern tweed Rebecca Taylor skirt suit she wore at an official reception in London this past spring. So, lucky for us in the discerning 914 demographic: The label recently opened its first boutique in Westchester—and only the seventh in the country. Offered are the designer’s elegant-yet-approachable ready-to-wear and exclusive fashions featuring lots of fresh colors and prints, plus handbags, shoes, and limited-edition collaborations. Prices start at (a fit-for-a-royal) $95 for a T-shirt and top out at $595 for a coat (fall line leather coats will be a bit steeper), with dresses up to $495. Do check out Taylor’s signature little floaty frocks, perfect for looking and staying cool as the temps rise.

If exclusive, finely crafted arm candy—handbags, totes, briefcases, travel bags, and the like—that lasts longer than a typical Kardashian coupling is your thing, do check out this site. Launched recently by fashion-industry veteran Elizabeth Jeffer of Chappaqua, it specializes in high-end bags and small leather goods designed for “work, travel, and life.” Expect elegant and timeless designs for both men and women. “We focus on functional, well-designed, and beautiful pieces,” says Jeffer. “They’re classic, not trendy, but with a modern element.” The exclusive online carrier of the Entermodal and RO collections, the site offers other lines including Porter, Bill Amberg, Archival, Bonastre, Il Busetto, and Clare Vivier. “These are bags that you’ll have forever and won’t be sick of by next year,” says Jeffer. “Because they are of such high quality, they’re really considered investment pieces.” So what’s the most one can expect to invest? Jeffer vows never to exceed the $1,000 price point.
