“We’re golfers. We spend more on research and development than we do on marketing.” Those encouraging words from John Craig, Executive VP of Tour Edge Golf explain quite succinctly why the company’s clubs have stood the test of time in a brutal marketplace for 32 years. This year, Tour Edge builds on that reputation by rolling out new lines of woods and irons built around new materials that promise greater forgiveness and distance for the average player.
The Exotics EX10 drivers, for example, feature TSP 910 Beta Ti, an exceptionally light and strong material that allows engineers to develop a larger face plate. The larger face increases the sweet spot and, combined with hexagonal variable face thickness, offers more forgiveness from more points on the face, especially in the heel and toe areas. “The average player can compress the material for extra distance,” says David Glod, President and Founder of Tour Edge Golf.

The company paired the face plate with a high performance 8-1-1 Titanium crown which is strong enough to allow more weight to be strategically repositioned lower and deeper in the head for optimal launch angle and spin results. The EX10 driver also has well-crafted aerodynamics from a more sloping crown and four speed channels on the sole that stabilize off-center hits with higher MOI. Both 10 and 12 degree heads are available with a new hosel system that allows players to raise or lower the loft +/- two degrees. Further adjustability comes from an interchangeable rear center sole weight that helps you optimize the club’s performance based on your preferences.

The new Tour Edge Exotics EX10 fairway woods and hybrids use a new Japanese high-density steel, HT 980, in a cup face design that allowed their engineers to make the face thinner for greater energy transfer and more distance. The engineers also improved speed channels in the sole by lengthening the rails and making the channels between the rails shallower and more compact to achieve minimal turf interaction.
The new Exotics CBX irons are triple forged from Japanese S25c Carbon steel to deliver a softer feel and substantial forgiveness in a blade. Tour Edge engineers CNC mill the faces for perfect flatness. In addition, the cavity in the irons is the deepest possible. “The CNC milling allows us to control the depth precisely, ensuring we take as much material out and place it in the flange area for more forgiveness and higher launch,” Glod explains.
