Music Therapy Institute’s 25th Anniversary Gala

An evening of dinner and dancing was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Music Conservatory of Westchester’s Music Therapy Institute. More than $36,000 was raised for the largest provider of professional music therapy services in Westchester. The Institute’s faculty works with more than 2,000 children and adults annually, providing services onsite at the Music Conservatory of Westchester as well as via outreach programs at 60 sites throughout the county.
Jean Newton, executive director of the Music Conservatory of Westchester, said, “The Music Therapy Institute has touched the lives of more than 25,000 individuals over the past 25 years and has become an integral part of our school.”
Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of The Business Council of Westchester, received MCW’s Visionary Award for her outstanding commitment to the arts. “Music is the art special to my life,” Gordon said. “The work represented by the Conservatory, using music’s healing abilities to improve life, is most meaningful.”
Alan E. Katz, MCW board member since 1997 and former board president, was also honored.
The Don DuPont Big Band as well as MTI alumnus performed; Bill Evans, meteorologist for ABC,television was host.
