Man Convicted in Port Chester Killing Sentenced to 25 Years

A White Plains man will serve two consecutive terms—totaling 35 years—in a state prison related to charges of manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and burglary, the County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s office said Jaerue Williams, 28, of 59 Old Mamaroneck Rd in White Plains, will serve a 25-year sentence after being found guilty in 2013 of fatally shooting a man in Port Chester in 2012.

Shortly after midnight on August 11, 2012, Port Chester Police responded to 16 South Regent St on a report of a shooting. The victim, 21 year old Wilfredo Rivera, was transported to Greenwich Hospital by several friends where he was pronounced dead.

Port Chester Police identified Williams as the shooter in that case.

Williams also pled guilty to a burglary charge regarding a 2012 home invasion, for which he was sentenced to 10 years.

Assistant District Attorney Julia Cornachio and Assistant District Attorney Wendy Parra of the Superior Court Trial Division prosecuted the case.
