There’s no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon in October than taking a walk outside, breathing in the crisp air and enjoying the changing scenery. On October 19, you can actually put that walk to good use at one of the many Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks for the American Cancer Society.
Making Strides walks about all over the area, but the closest one will take place at Manhattanville College. The last we checked, there were already close to 1,600 participants signed up, and together they’ve raised close to $236,000 for cancer research. (And those numbers are sure to go up.) If you can’t make the five-mile, non-competitive walk yourself, you can always give a donation.
