Organic Pharmer’s Strawberry-Banana Smoothie
“This is one of the simplest, tastiest, and most-kid friendly smoothies we offer at Organic Pharmer. At OP we make our own cold-pressed organic apple juice as well as homemade probiotic coconut milk “yogurt” daily, and blend these into our smoothies and protein shakes for best flavor and optimal nutritive benefits—but store-bought, organic, unfiltered apple juice, and best-quality yogurt (coconut or other) are acceptable substitutes for a make-at-home version of this delicious frozen treat.”
Ingredients for One (12 oz) Smoothie:
• 3 fl oz cold-pressed organic red apple juice (or store-bought organic, unfiltered apple juice)
• 3 oz coconut yogurt (available for purchase at Organic Pharmer, or substitute your favorite yogurt)
• 1 small frozen banana (freeze peeled bananas in storage bags, and always have them on hand for smoothies!)
• 5–6 organic strawberries (frozen or fresh)
• 1–2 ice cubes
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth. Enjoy immediately.

Organic Pharmer’s Hummus “Snack Pack”
“Our creamy chickpea hummus is so popular we decided to make it easier for our clients to eat on the go. We packaged it along with fresh-cut organic carrot and celery sticks, and little soldiers of our gluten-free Pharmer’s Bread. We also add wedges of crisp red radish and a couple of herbed Kalamata olives, but for a more kid-friendly version you can substitute sweet cherry tomatoes, thick slices of red bell pepper, or whatever your kiddos like! This is a perfect school-lunch option to break you out of the sandwich rut.”
Hummus Ingredients:
• 8 oz chickpeas (soaked overnight and cooked until completely tender, or 8 oz canned, organic chickpeas, rinsed and drained)
• 1 small clove garlic
• 3 Tbl organic extra virgin olive oil
• Juice and chopped zest from ½ organic lemon juice (or to taste)
• 1 tsp sea salt
• ¼ tsp ground organic cinnamon (optional)
• ½ cup filtered water, chickpea cooking liquid or vegetable stock
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
To Make the Snack Packs:
Any combination of the following fresh-cut organic veggies for dipping:
• Carrot sticks
• Celery sticks
• Cucumber slices
• Cherry tomatoes
• Red bell pepper slices
Plus: Wedges of OP’s Pharmer’s Bread or bread or cracker of your choice (preferably whole-grain, gluten-free and organic).
Directions:
Pack the hummus in a small, lidded container and place inside a slightly larger food storage box in which all will fit snuggly. Assemble the “dippables” and arrange in neat stacks alongside.
