At-home dye-brand Madison Reed is changing the color game for tresses all over Westchester at its new Eastchester brick-and-mortar.
For Westchester women and men looking to keep gray at bay, there’s no longer a need to head to a full-service salon when all that’s required is a quickie color sesh. Madison Reed Hair Color Bar has a newly launched Eastchester location, and the brand’s signature service is all about color.
One of seven locations in New York, along with dozens of others across the country, the color-only Madison Reed in the Vernon Place Shops center looks and feels like a fresh and stylish new salon — with everything but the scissors.
Inside the bright, sophisticated, yet laid-back space, professional colorists offer free consults, all manner of hair-coloring services (single process, partial foil, balayage highlights), with the choice of more than 55 multi-dimensional shades for different hair types and textures. A good wash and a pro blow (drying is priced separately) complete the experience.
Loved by at-home dye devotees for being chemical- and cruelty-free, Madison Reed color is crafted in Italy (according to European Union safety standards) and is rich in nourishing keratin, argan oil, and ginseng-root extract (for shine and softness), with no ammonia, phenylenediamine (PPD), resorcinol, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), and titanium dioxide, chemicals which many consider harmful to both hair and health.
Pricing begins at $55 and, for tresses that demand frequent touch-ups, the $60/month unlimited roots membership allows root reboots whenever the mood strikes, with the added benefit of a free blowout, gratis glossing services, and discounts on other services and retail products.
Those who prefer to color their hair in the comfort of home are welcome to sit with a colorist for a free consult and receive expert assistance making an on-the-spot purchase of a box that can be brought straight to the bathroom mirror. And, still, no scissors (hopefully!) in sight.
