Put a twist on National Hot Fudge Sundae Day (July 25) with Longford’s new donut sundae. “Everyone is going crazy for the donuts,” says owner Christine Vita, who’s celebrating the 20th anniversary of her store. Selling around 200 to 300 orders weekly, the donut sundae consists of a hefty scoop of ice cream sandwiched between a split house-made glazed donut, which is finished with a drizzle of wet topping plus a spoonful of dry topping.
You can go classic with vanilla ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, and hot fudge, or a bit unconventional with mint chip, marshmallow sauce, and mini M&Ms. This is becoming one of the county’s most desired summer desserts; on July 25th, go with a friend as it’s buy one donut sundae, get one free.
