The Westchester Bank has appointed Eric Wiggins as senior vice president, chief credit officer. He will be based in Yonkers. With 25 years of banking experience, he will be responsible for the oversight, management, and compliance of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio.
ANDRUS, a provider of support services for families and children, has formed an Advisory Board, charged with helping the agency develop a comprehensive evaluation plan for its “Sanctuary” model of care. The board is funded by a $339,000 grant awarded to ANDRUS in 2013 from the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Concordia College has appointed Rev. Dr. Joshua Hollmann as campus chaplain and assistant professor of religion. Dr. Hollmann holds a B.A. from Valparaiso University, a M.Div. from Concordia Seminary – St. Louis, and a Ph.D. from McGill University.
VHB, a planning, transportation, land development, and environmental services firm, has promoted Westchester resident Matt Carmody, PE, to director of transportation in its White Plains office. Carmody will direct traffic, parking, bicycle, and pedestrian studies throughout the Hudson Valley, and will work closely with municipalities, institutions, developers, and local and state transportation agencies.
Mt. Kisco law firm Shamberg Marwell Hollis Andreycak & Laidlaw, P.C., (formerly Shamberg Marwell & Hollis, P.C.), has two new partners and one new associate, plus two partners’ names have been added to the company’s name.
Catherine B. Andreycak, who joined the firm in 1998, has become a name partner. Moira S. Laidlaw, who previously practiced at Laidlaw Firm, Attorneys at Law, PLLC, and has now merged her Bedford Hills law practice with the firm, has joined as a name partner.
In addition, Yonkers resident Joseph N. Madden has joined the firm as a partner and Jennifer King has been promoted to partner. Madden’s practice is focused on zoning, planning, commercial land use and development, general civil litigation, and landlord-tenant law, while King, who joined the firm in 2007 practices litigation pertaining to zoning and land use matters, as well as commercial matters.
Co-Communications, Inc., a full-service marketing and communications firm, has hired Lyndsay Bouchal as senior account manager for its Mt. Kisco operation. Bouchal will work with a variety of clients in the hospitality, higher education, nonprofit, and healthcare industries. Kevin Zawacki, a reporter and editor with experience covering Westchester business, politics, and lifestyle beats for AOL-Huffington Post, also joins the firm.
Progressive Computing (PCI), a computer consulting and network installation, design, and maintenance firm, has promoted Laverne Oliver to director of operations and Marina Reichelt to director of finance.

WESTCHESTER MEDICAL CENTER REJECTS OBAMACARE PATIENTS

Westchester County Continuum of Care Partnership for the Homeless to offer housing and employment opportunities to 75 homeless veterans County-wide. Greenburgh Town Supervisor proposes naming new Tappan Zee after the folk hero who championed the preservation of the river it will span.
Sparking outrage from patients and lawmakers, Valhalla-based Westchester Medical Center is not accepting coverage offered through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) exchange in Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam, saying insurance exchange reimbursements are too low to cover the costs of the services it offers as a teaching hospital. It is the only acute-care hospital in the three counties that has not signed on with plans offered in their communities through the exchange. The affiliated Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital also refuses the plans.
As the Center turns away local ACA enrollees, the county aims to provide respite to local veterans in need. County Executive Robert P. Astorino, joined by the Westchester County Continuum of Care Partnership for the Homeless, recently announced Westchester County’s next “100-Day Challenge,” which aims to house 75 homeless veterans and find employment for 45 veterans in the 100-day period ending March 31.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner’s proposal to name the new crossing now under construction after Pete Seeger, the Hudson Valley folk music legend, is picking up strong support. A Dutchess Junction resident for more than six decades, Seeger launched the Clearwater, a 106-foot sloop built at his expense that sailed the Hudson as a crusading vessel for the cleanup of the industrially polluted river. He founded the Beacon-based nonprofit Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, a leading environmental organization in legal actions and public education efforts to restore the river and protect its ecology.
