March of Dimes Real Estate Awards Honorees
Three prestigious members of the Westchester area’s real estate community – Joe Apicella of The MacQuesten Companies, Seth Pinsky of RXR, and Martin Ginsburg of Ginsburg Development Companies, LLC – were honored at the March of Dimes 29th Annual Real Estate Awards Breakfast on November 17 at the Hilton Westchester. 600 real estate professionals from the tri-state area were in attendance during the breakfast, which celebrated the betterment of local communities. It also celebrated the progressive projects being developed in Westchester’s downtown hubs as well as those changing our landscape. Through the breakfast, March of Dimes raised $525,000 to fund lifesaving research and programs.
Sixth Consecutive Win for EverBank Retail Sales Manager

Multiple Awards for Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP
Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP of White Plains and Somers received a Tier 1 ranking for Elder Law in the U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” 2017 awards. “We feel privileged to be ranked as superior among the nation’s leading firms and will continue to honor that ranking as we move into another year,” said managing partner Anthony J. Local Super Lawyer Designations
Also included on the New York Metro Super Lawyers 2016 list were members of Leason Ellis LLP, an intellectual property law firm in White Plains. Attorneys Paul Fields, Melvin Garner, Adda Gogoris, Yuval Marcus and Peter Sloane were all named to the list. Firm associates Cameron Reuber and Lauren Sabol were both named “Rising Stars.” Members of Harrington, Ocko & Monk, LLP received praise as well: founding partners Kevin J. Harrington, Robert S. Ocko and Glenn A. Monk as well as attorneys Adam G. Greenberg, I. Paul Howansky, Melissa Cintron, Dawn M. Foster, Michael W. Freudenberg, John T.A. Rosenthal and Joan S. Silverman were all selected for the Super Lawyers list; Matthew R. Bremner was named a “Rising Star.” Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
WPH Re-Designated as Magnet Organization
White Plains Hospital has once again earned Magnet Status, the gold standard for nursing excellence designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a subsidiary of the American Nursing Association. White Plains Hospital initially achieved Magnet recognition in 2012. Evaluation for re-accreditation occurs every four years. WPH is one of only three Magnet hospitals in Westchester and one of 25 Magnet hospitals in New York State. Only roughly seven percent of hospitals in the United States are currently Magnet designated. “We are so proud to again receive the honor of Magnet designation,” said Susan Fox, President and CEO of White Plains Hospital. “This remarkable achievement is a validation of the nursing professionalism, teamwork, and excellence in patient care that our Hospital is known for.”
Advocate Brokerage Principals Repeat as Five Star Award Winners
Five Star Professional has again honored Denise Koslowsky and Rosalyn Binday, principals at Advocate Brokerage, with the Five Star Award. They received the Westchester Five Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional award for providing the highest in service and overall satisfaction again in 2016. This is the fourth year in a row that they have received this designation. “We are thrilled to once again be found worthy of this great recognition,” commented Koslowsky. “We obsess about finding the right coverage for our clients so we are gratified that they would take the time to single out our efforts.” Koslowsky was also recently awarded a Certified Advisor of Personal Insurance designation from the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of Business and Chubb Insurance. She is among a group of only 33 agents to receive the certification after completing a one-year intensive educational program on understanding the lifestyle and risk management and insurance needs of high-net-worth individuals.
United Hebrew of New Rochelle Named ‘Best Nursing Home’
The nationally recognized U.S. News “Best Nursing Homes” list included United Hebrew of New Rochelle as one of its top-rated nursing homes for 2016-17. Volunteer New York! Honored as Top-Rated 2016 Nonprofit
GreatNonprofits.org has honored Volunteer New York! with the 2016 Top-Rated Nonprofit Award. This is the 5th consecutive year the organization has received this designation. The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that Volunteer New York! received – reviews written by volunteers, agencies and program participants. “We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2016 Nonprofit. We are proud to live up to our motto every day: Connect, Serve, Grow,” said Deputy Executive Director Jeanette Gisbert. “This year we inspired 19,000 volunteers to give over 299,000 hours of service back to 500 nonprofits, which is $8.13 Million of value back to our community.”
NYP/Westchester and COO Receive Planetree Honor

NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester has received the 2016 Planetree Distinction Award for Leadership and Innovation in Patient-Centered Care. Senior VP and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Philip J. Wilner also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Planetree for his leadership. The Distinction Award is the highest level of recognition conferred by Planetree, honoring healthcare organizations that continually advance the practice of patient-centered care through outreach, research, scholarship, and innovation. NYP/Westchester is the first and only behavioral health site in the United States to receive the award, one of only 10 total facilities to receive the Planetree Distinction Award, and one of only 30 facilities in the United States to be named a Planetree Designated Patient-Centered Hospital.

National and Local Prizes Won by Korth & Shannahan
Chappaqua’s own Korth & Shannahan Painting and Carpentry has been recognized with recent awards at both the local and national levels.
