County Executive Rob Astorino recently kicked off a local public-awareness campaign called “The ABCs of Safe Sleep,” to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and suffocation in infants. In coalition with the American Academy of Pediatrics, The ABCs of Safe Sleep remind parents that the safest way for babies to sleep is Alone, on their Backs, and in a Crib. “It’s so simple and so important that parents and caregivers understand the proper way for a baby to sleep,” says Astorino. “Just having that understanding could save a life.” For more information, please visit health.westchestergov.com/safe-sleep.
