The Junior League of Central Westchester surpassed its fundraising goals with proceeds of more than $65,000 at its 65th Anniversary Gala held at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester.
“Our gala greatly exceeded our expectations,” said Lynn Marvin, president of Junior League of Central Westchester. “We are proud that this year’s gala will increase our ability to promote the literacy, health, and welfare of children and families in the JLCW service areas of White Plains, Greenburgh, Eastchester and Scarsdale.”
After a walk down the red carpet, more than 330 guests were transported to Hollywood with glamorous décor largely donated by the legendary Diana Gould of Diana Gould Ltd. Floral and Event Décor.
Master of Ceremonies Brian Conybeare, anchor from News 12 Westchester, led an awards program for the evening’s honorees which included Susan Wayne, president and CEO of Family Services of Westchester (FSW) and Scarsdale resident Lynne Clark.
Guests danced to music by The Del Bocas, a 6-member band of Scarsdale and Edgemont residents. During the cocktail hour and dinner, there was a silent auction, including one-of-a-kind items from Neiman Marcus, the New York Knicks, and The Palm TriBeCa restaurant.
