Jerry Seinfeld Makes 'Coffee' Run In Rye

The comedy legend stopped by Wainwright House to film an episode of Comedians in Cars.

That comedic anti-dentite, Jerry Seinfeld, made a return to the 914, spending a day at Rye’s historic Wainwright House for a segment of his Crackle web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The episode, scheduled to air in June, will feature footage at Wainwright of Seinfeld and a 1959 vintage Triumph TR3, although scenes with co-star John Oliver will be filmed at a TBA location later this month.

According to Wainwright’s events coordinator, Mary de Barros, the visit was brief, but enough to spark up their day. “He filmed himself in the car, with shots of the Wainright House in the background, back behind the building, and by the water,” de Barros explains. “He was somewhat in a rush to be on his way, but he stopped in and said hello to everybody.”

Seinfeld’s making a habit of saying hello throughout Westchester. Last September, he popped into Pleasantville Diner for lunch with Steve Martin, commenting on how, ahem, “pleasant” the village is (after first dealing with a broken down vehicle on the Saw Mill). Prior to that, the show ventured to Ossining back in July 2014, where Seinfeld shared some java at the Landmark Diner with Briarcliff Manor resident and standup icon Robert Klein. Maybe for Seinfeld’s next area detour, he can stop by the County Executive’s office to fix our budget over cappuccino.
