Building Hope
The American Cancer Society’s Westchester Region hosted its fourth annual Evening of Hope at the Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor. More than 200 guests attanded the event, which raised $189,000. Cancer survivors Mitchell Cutler, Laura Friedman, and Doreen Semel each were honored with the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Leadership and Humanitarian Award. “This event is a great way for friends, family, and amazing people to help out a wonderful cause,” says Jeff Nyikos, co-chairman of the gala and COO of Leros Point to Point. A portion of the event’s proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society’s Camp Adventure, a free weeklong sleep-away camp for children with cancer and their siblings ages 6 to 18.
